Retarder
A retarder is an auxiliary braking device used in automotive braking systems, primarily applied to commercial vehicles and large buses. It generates braking torque to share the load of the main brake, reducing brake wear and the risk of thermal fade. Retarders are typically mounted on the driveshaft or transmission and operate via hydraulic, eddy-current, or electromagnetic principles. This product must be matched with the vehicle's braking system and comply with relevant industry standards.
